Civic Center has a strong new lunch option in Elmira Rosticceria, the first venture from former Fairmont chef Marc Passetti. Named for the SF street on which his parents and grandparents grew up, it's focused on hearty Italian breakfast and lunch fare, like spit-roasted pork with fennel and salsa verde, roast potatoes, farro salad, crispy pork salad, roasted eggplant with smoked mozzarella, and even lampredotto (a Florentine tripe sandwich). More offerings are forthcoming, with seasonal produce from the adjacent Heart of the City farmers' market.

On the morning side, there's oatmeal, housemade pastries, omelets, and egg sandwiches with bacon or speck. Bicycle is providing the coffee, and there are a few beers on hand from the likes of 21st Amendment and Anchor. A wine list and more beer selections are still being firmed up, but once they're available, happy hour will launch as well. The space is cheerful and cute, with enough wood tables and bar seating to accommodate 35 or so souls. Hours are currently 7:30 am-7 pm daily, with breakfast served until 10:30 am.
