ST. HELENA—The charming young lady you see pictured above is Heidi Brown, culinary liaison for The Restaurant at Meadowood and the first of the three Eater Young Guns semifinalists from the Bay Area to be profiled over at Eater National. BELMONT—After deciding to leave Pacific Brewing Laboratory a few months back, Patrick Horn is now teaming up with two new colleagues, Southpaw BBQ brewer Phil Cutti and former Lagunitas operations guru Inna Volynskaya, to launch Headlands Brewing Company in June. They're planning on releasing three beers: a Belgian rye IPA, a hoppy pils, and a West Coast Pale Ale. Like the other nanobreweries in town, they're brewing on a full-size brewery's equipment (Devil's Canyon's, specifically), but they're seeking a 20-30 barrel brewhouse of their own, too. BAY AREA—We received a notice from the Food Network that they're looking for chefs interested in opening their own restaurant to appear on a new show hosted by Robert Irvine of Restaurant: Impossible fame. It's a competition show, and the winner gets their own restaurant in "a premiere dining destination," which means a possible move, so be advised. MARINA—The NIMBY situation surrounding the proposed Woodhouse Fish Co. location in the former degaussing station on the Marina Green hasn't dissipated, and owner Dylan MacNiven tells the Chron he's in "a holding pattern" until he can have a Board of Supervisors hearing, which is yet to be scheduled.
