Des Jardins on The Chew; Susan Spicer Visiting

THE AIRWAVESJardinière and Mijita chef Traci des Jardins will be the special guest on tomorrow's 12 pm episode of ABC food-chat show The Chew, making pork chops with cherry-almond salsa to feed Mario Batali and his crew. THE MISSION—Also arriving from the tube: New Orleans chef Susan Spicer, the James Beard Award-winning chef of Bayona who inspired the character of Janette Desautel on HBO's Treme, will be visiting Brick & Mortar Music Hall for a two-day pop-up on June 14 and 15. THE MISSION—The folks over at Cerveceria de MateVeza just completed a Brewing and Business Experienceship with the country's biggest craft brewer, Samuel Adams. As part of his homework, founder Jim Woods brewed a collaboration beer with Sam Adams, Boston Tea Party Saison, featuring MateVeza's signature infusion of yerba mate. OAKLANDHopscotch in Oakland is turning one year old this week (they'll be featured in our One Year In column later this month), and to celebrate, chef Kyle Itani and GM/bar manager Jenny Schwarz are offering a weeklong "greatest hits" prix fixe menu for $30 from tomorrow through Saturday (Saturday brunch not included).
