Good news for fans of Baron Baking's bagels who don't want to make the trek to the East Bay: they've scored their first SF retail client, the Marina location of Real Food Co. (3060 Fillmore St.) They're also available at Shorty Goldstein's, but this is the first place where you can take a bag home. Over in the 510, Saul's, Stag's Lunchette, and Chop Bar carry them as well, and more retail partners are in talks on both sides of the Bay (they wouldn't disclose who). As for their quality, Jewish food guru Joan Nathan endorsed them in the NYT: "perfectly seasoned, brown, crusty, chewy bagels." [EaterWire]
