The Academy of Sciences has gotten the OK from the city to add a 1,450-square-foot glassed-in dining pavilion to their garden, replacing the cheesy clear tent currently doing the job beneath the museum's floating Maya Lin sculpture. It's not a new restaurant—The Moss Room and Academy Cafe's kitchens will service it—but it'll be a nice alternative for enjoying the garden when the fog rolls in. [Chron]
