Status: Opening Wednesday

Hayes Valley has a new craft-beer destination: the back bar at Noir Lounge has been renamed the Blind Tiger Tap Room, and is stocking rare and interesting beers from the likes of The Bruery, Uinta, Port Brewing, Dogfish Head, and Rodenbach. Spearheaded by bar manager and wine director Sarah Barron, the space is named for an old speakeasy from the Prohibition era.

The space is small, with seven seats and five rotating taps, and serves its beers in 11-ounce chalices for $6-13 (a decent deal, given that most pours of the high-ABV beers it's serving clock in at five to eight ounces). Here's the initial roundup of drafts. It's open from 4-10 pm Wednesday and Thursday, 3 pm-12 am Friday, 12 pm-12 am Saturday, and 12-9 pm Sunday. Meanwhile, fellow Noir tenant The Lunchpad continues to go strong on weekdays, ensuring there's always something going on at 581 Hayes.
