The little stretch of 24th between Mission and Valencia has seen a lot of movement in recent months, with Paprika and The Creme Brulee Shop moving in. Now, there's another player in the area: Rustic (formerly known as Triumvirate), a pizzeria taking over the former Pizza de Mano and Popo's Pizza space. But unlike those spots, it's more than just a slice joint: it'll offer Neapolitan-style pizza cooked in a 600-degree oven.
According to Tablehopper, the project is headed up by pizza chef Tom Elliott, who'll round out the menu with seasonal appetizers, weekend barbecue, and salads. But what should really get locals excited is the 40-seat patio they've got in the back, where they'll also be setting up two bocce ball courts. (Umbrellas, heat lamps, and windbreaks, as always, come standard in this chilly town.) They'll have a small wine list, plus eight beers on tap and twelve by the bottle. They're hoping to open in the next couple of weeks, as soon as the ABC has its say.
