Bauer thinks new Peruvian restaurant Puerto 27 is a "fresh and vibrant" addition to Pacifica's dining scene, noting the tiradito (a Peruvian-style sashimi), "terrific" swordfish skewer and "excellent " pan-roasted mussels. The spot also offers an extensive pisco menu: "If you know this spirit you'll be happy, and if you don't, you can get a great education." Puerto 27 is now Bauer's favorite of Jose Calvo-Perez's spots, which also include Fresca and Pasion. Why? Eating there "feels like a tropical vacation." Two and a half stars. [Chron]
