Adriano Paganini of Super Duper Burgers isn't content with the success of his growing burger business—he's making a play for Mexican food as well. The man behind the mini-burger is plotting a new enterprise: a taqueria called Uno Dos Tacos that will take the recently-vacated Sellers Markets space at 595 Market Street and transform it into an outlet for authentic Mexican fare.
Paganini, who's also had a hand in Lolinda, Beretta and Delarosa, told Inside Scoop that the food won't be "gringo" Mexican or resemble Chipotle's build-your-own vibe in any way: "It's going to be Mexican Mexican." The pared-down offerings will include traditional taqueria plates, like lengua and carnitas, plus housemade tortillas and a range of salsas. The 3,000-square-foot space will accommodate a lot of people, with room for up to 60 people indoors. He'll also have space for 40-50 more on the outdoor patio, which is sure to attract FiDi folks looking for a sunny lunchtime escape. Paganini is targeting an opening in the fall, around the same time his latest FiDi Super Duper opens its doors.
