Joshua Skenes may have the #2 new restaurant in America, but he's not resting on his laurels: for a week in October, he'll be bringing some of New York's starriest chefs over to Saison for a series of collaboration dinners. The event kicks off with Michelin three-star chef Laurent Gras, formerly of L20 in Chicago (and formerly of SF's own Fifth Floor), and will also feature Gabriel Kreuther (who recently departed NYC's The Modern, where he earned three stars from the New York Times and a Michelin star), Matthew Lightner (who took home two Michelin stars and three NYT stars for his work at Atera), Guenter Seeger (whose acclaimed Seeger's in Atlanta was one of Skenes' favorite restaurants to visit in his youth), and John Shields (a Food & Wine Best New Chef who recently left Virginia's well-regarded Town House to start his own spot in D.C.)

Each chef will have his own night to collaborate with Skenes and his team, with Gras taking the reins on October 9th and followed in succession by Kreuther, Lightner, Seeger, and Shields. Given the caliber of the folks involved, dinner will be double the usual price, clocking in at $500 per person before wine and tip. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the SF Food Bank. Call (415) 828-7990 to reserve.
