4505 Meats Snags Old Da' Pitt Space on Divisadero

Ever since longtime BBQ joint Da' Pitt was evicted from its Divisadero digs, we've been wondering who would snap up the prime space on the increasingly competitive Divis corridor—one of the last in SF with a smoker. Wonder no more, for Tablehopper has word that Ryan Farr and the 4505 Meats crew will be moving in with their signature burgers, 'cue, and meats.

Ryan and company plan to totally refurbish the building, which dates back to the 1930s, revamping everything but the original wood-fired barbecue pit. Fans of fresh air should note that they also plan on adding an open-air patio, which, along with the Mojo parklet and Bean Bag Cafe, will make this stretch of Divisadero especially convivial.

The menu will include classics from the 4505 repertoire, including the ever-popular "Best Damn Cheeseburger" as well as barbecue pork shoulder and brisket, artisanal sausages, and an array of other meats from the butchery master, plus beer and wine. What's more, you'll be able to order takeout and delivery, so start placing orders soon for that Super Bowl party.

4505 expects to open its doors later this year, so expect the smokey aromas of barbecue to begin re-perfuming Divis within months. We imagine the folks leaving the pot clinic across the parking lot will be powerless to resist.
