The Design District will soon be getting a new craft beer outlet in the form of Blueprint Tap Room, a new project by chef Chris Wong. Wong is the current executive chef of Social Kitchen & Brewery and the former chef-partner of Luella, and he says his new project will focus on lunch, happy hour, and early dinners for neighborhood folks and workers in the design and tech-rich area.
The menu will be composed of modern American comfort fare, with small plates like crispy black-eyed peas, wings, and bacon mac and cheese, plus larger dishes like a grilled mahi sandwich, pork-belly fried rice, and spaghettini and meatballs. See a sample menu here. Blue Bottle coffee and desserts like espresso bread pudding will be on hand for local workers seeking an afternoon pick-me-up.
Beer, however, will be Blueprint's main focus, with 20 brews on tap from locals like Lagunitas, North Coast, Anderson Valley, Bear Republic, Drake's, Anchor, and, of course, Social Kitchen. Wong will also offer a handful of draft wines.
Hours will likely be 11 am-8 pm, Monday-Friday. Blueprint is targeting an opening in the next two or three weeks, so look out for updates in the near future.
