NORTH BEACH—The bar at Comstock Saloon is a perennially hot ticket, which is why owners Jeff Hollinger and Jonny Raglin are planning to add a second bar in the dining room, with a separate bartender and identical cocktail menu. It should come online in November. [Tablehopper]

OAKLAND—The chefs of Chris Pastena's three restaurants (Chop Bar, Tribune Tavern, and Lungomare), as well as the team from Chop Bar alum Lev Delany's Brotzeit Lokal, are going head-to-head this Sunday in a whole pig roast cookoff. It's at Linden Street Brewery, so good beer will be flowing. Tickets are $20 at the door, and it kicks off at 4 pm. [EaterWire]
