There's a new bar brewing in the Mission, and this one comes courtesy of Zarin Gollogly and Spencer Lafrenz, the owners of Mission-based Harrison Woodworking + Design. Inside Scoop got wind of the new project from the woodworking duo, who've contributed elements like custom tables and scorched walls to the likes of Hog & Rocks and Hi Lo BBQ. Now, it's their turn to helm their own space.
Called The Tradesman, the Alabama Street space will aim to be a casual alternative to nearby spots like Trick Dog and Flour + Water. Featuring televisions, beer and bar snacks, the 1,400-square foot space is being kitted out by Gollogly and Lafrenz, who'll bring their "very simple but very rich" blend of styles to the interior buildout. Their friendly relationship with Hi Lo's Scott Youkilis means he'll be designing a concise food menu for them, which will include Hi Lo smoked meats and a possible oyster crossover from Hog & Rocks. No word yet on their opening date target, but they're currently getting the proper permits in order.
