The city's beloved Tamale Lady is getting a ride with Uber on Friday night, when they'll be teaming up to distribute free tamales (and hugs) from Virginia Ramos herself. Much like the ride-share company's on-demand ice cream promotion, the tamale delivery will be available via Uber's app, and will continue from 8 p.m. until the tamales run out. Meanwhile, Ramos continues to seek funding for a brick-and-mortar tamale shop through her Indiegogo campaign, which has raised about one-fifth of the money she needs to establish a commercial kitchen.
