Status: Opening today

The forward march of new beer spots continues today with the opening of Blueprint Tap Room, a casual beer outlet catering to the Design District's mix of tech and creative workers. Chef Chris Wong, a Luella alum who was most recently at Social Kitchen & Brewery, is behind the spot, which offers a creative menu of American comfort food and a handpicked beer list to go along with it.

The menu features small plates like grilled tiger prawn skewers, lamb and eggs, and bacon mac-and-cheese, as well as larger dishes like roasted salmon filet, pork-belly fried rice and a grilled spiced albacore sandwich. (See the full menu here.) An afternoon selection of desserts and Equator coffee is intended to lure workers for mid-day meetings.

The 20 taps are California-focused, with offerings from Social Kitchen, Drake's, Calicraft, Anderson Valley and more, plus a few brews from farther afield. See the current beer list here. A selection of draft wines will also be on offer. Located directly across the street from Zynga's offices and close to Airbnb's, the simple space is designed as a lunchtime, happy hour, and private-events spot, with an L-shaped bar, window-facing counter seating and a 10-seat communal table. High ceilings and an industrial vibe give Blueprint a clean, streamlined feel. Starting today, hours will be Monday-Saturday, 11am-9pm, with the bar staying open until 10pm.
