Andrew Zimmern, the Bizarre Foods America host, is returning to the Bay Area to do a second edition of the popular show, and people have been spotting him around town. The tipster photo above shows him at the Ferry Building, where he swung by Boccalone, ordered an Italian combo, and chatted with former food-truck partner Chris Cosentino on the house phone.
More Cosentino was in the offing later on, with Zimmern swinging by Incanto for a major meal of brains, eggs, brown butter, and truffles; tuna tartare; tomato-leaf bucatini; and polenta and poached eggs with more truffles. (Given that Cosentino appeared on the last Bay Area episode of the show, though, this may have just been a friendly call.) He also stopped by Don Bugito for a toffee mealworm sundae. As for today, Zimmern is out hunting leopard sharks and bat rays in the Bay with forager Hank Shaw, which he's presumably going to cook up later on. Zimmern's Instagram account is the best way to track him around town; share any sightings of your own in the comments.
