Status: Opening today
Joel Gott's gourmet burger empire completes a southward expansion today with the opening of Gott's Roadside Palo Alto. The Peninsula outpost of the artist formerly known as Taylor's Automatic Refresher joins three other locations in St. Helena, Napa and the Ferry Building, and echoes the motifs that have made the James Beard Award-winning mini-chain a local favorite, including lots of patio seating and an expansive menu of burgers, fries and seafood.
Inside Scoop reports that the new spot, designed by BCV Architects, has 160 seats spread over two patios (handy for Palo Alto's temperate weather), plus room for 130 more indoors. Exposed steel beams and concrete floors make for a modern, clean feel, and the iconic Gott's "EAT" sign features in prominent position. Expect more of Gott's classic menu here, from ahi poke crispy tacos and chili cheese fries to burgers like the green chile cheeseburger, plus wine list with a strong Napa Valley focus and beers from Anchor Steam, Lagunitas and Sierra Nevada. As of today, Gott's Palo Alto is open daily from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m.
