North Oakland's Eli's Mile High Club has been known as more of a punk venue than a culinary destination, but co-owner Jason Herbers is attempting to change that, remodeling the kitchen and bringing on Couyon Cajun & Po'Boys, a pop-up from New Orleanians David Hledik and Louise Martin. (In Cajun, a "couyon" is a foolish person.) They're offering gumbo, etouffee, corn maque choux, and of course, po'boys, until 10:30 pm on weekdays and 12:30 am on weekends. Bonus: all of it is under $10. [EBX]
