FINANCIAL DISTRICT—Landmark dim sum restaurant Yank Sing is catching flak for an ordering system that categorizes customers as Asian, non-Asian or child after an image of their register screen made the rounds on Reddit. The restaurant hasn't officially commented, but a shift lead said that there's no real meaning to the distinction other than as a demographic tool for who orders what. [SF Weekly]

NORTH BEACHTosca Cafe bar manager Isaac Shumway shared some details about the historic bar's forthcoming revamp, including the fact that the white coats and steam machine will remain the same, but other details, like the chocolate and brandy used in their signature House Cappuccino, will be tweaked.
