Chef Shuffles

After two years cooking at Haven, Kim Alter is leaving Daniel Patterson's acclaimed Oakland restaurant—but she's not going far. Alter will take the chef gig at Patterson's other Oakland restaurant, Plum, while Patterson's Coi sous chef Chris Johnson has been promoted to the top job at Haven. It's a bid to make Patterson's empire more unified, in line with his promotion of Matt Tinder to group pastry chef and Ron Boyd to group Director of Operations/cocktail guru. After a closure for renovation from this Sunday through next Monday, Alter will take over Plum and offer a $65, five-course tasting menu. [Inside Scoop]
