A Cursed Thai Restaurant; The Tower of Bauer's New Gig

LOWER HAIGHT—It may be time to declare another cursed space. 494 Haight has now been home to three Thai restaurants in just the past 15 months, the latest of which was Sweet Basil. And a fourth, House of Thai, is already on the way. [Haighteration]

SOMA—Meanwhile, over at the Chron, the former Tower of Bauer is equally cursed: the paper is turning it into a headquarters for their new required employee social-media boot camp. Guess they can Instagram the apiary. [Mashable]

OAKLANDSweet Bar Bakery turns one this weekend, and while no Thriller flash mobs are expected from former Michael Jackson personal chef Mani Niall, he is throwing a party with pizza, salad, braised meats, and desserts for $25 (drinks and jeweled gloves are extra). [EaterWire]
