Fans of The Alembic's elevated gastropub fare have bid a fond "see you soon" to the cocktail spot's kitchen, which closed up shop over the weekend. Have no fear, they'll soon be back in action: the closure is so that construction can expand the kitchen into a portion of the former Red Vic Movie House next door. Expect to see more seating, a bigger kitchen, remodeled restrooms, and more in about six weeks. Until then, The Alembic will continue to serve drinks and simple bar snacks that don't require cooking.
