Concession Obsessions

The current facelift for the iconic Coit Tower is expected to come to fruition in April, but there's still some friction as to whether or not visitors will be able to eat there. Proposed concessionaire Terry Grimm (Anchor Oyster Bar, Kenwood Inn & Spa) wants to be able to sell chowder, seafood cocktails, and sandwiches from a cart, but the DPH is concerned about safety and lingering diners tying up the limited parking. Grimm will likely get the go-ahead to restore the gift shop, with the decision on food coming after the reopening. [Chron, SF Business Times]
