Burger Wire

The latest absurd burger to spring forth from the Umami Burger guest-chef program is the Monte Cristo Burger from Top Cheftestapant Michael Voltaggio (of L.A.'s ink.), which debuted yesterday at all of the chain's locations. Like its namesake sandwich, the burger features deep-fried buns soaked in vanilla custard, prosciutto, Gruyere fondue, and powdered sugar on top, except it also, you know, has a beef patty inside. It comes with a side of syrup. It costs $15. The rest is between you and your cardiologist. [EaterWire]
