Noeteca Team Opening Brasserie at 17th and Mission

The Mission may end up having three brewpubs on one block.

The former Quic Pic Grocery at Mission and Sycamore (between 17th and 18th) has been in play for many years; Preeti Mistry almost turned it into Juhu Beach Club in 2012, before moving over to Rockridge instead. But Inside Scoop found out there's finally a taker for the full buildout: Scott McDonald and Alex Kamprasert, of Noe Valley cafe/wine bar Noeteca, and new partner Yulianto Liu. They've dubbed their new project Mission Brasserie, and Tablehopper says it'll serve French and Alsatian food with an emphasis on beer. They're also considering putting in a small brewpub element, which will definitely be interesting considering that Southpaw BBQ and the forthcoming Citizen Fox, both on the same block, already have them.

The 2,800-square-foot space will be designed by Craige Walters (who's done everything from Hecho to Romper Room), and the hunt for a chef has begun. Considering they've already had the space for a year and were only just now able to apply for a liquor license, don't expect this one until mid-2015 at the earliest.
