Meet Rx, Your New Purveyor of Medicinal Alcohol in the Tenderloin

New, 1 comment

The menu of stimulants, stress relievers and painkillers is based off an actual prohibition-era form for prescription alcohol.

Friday night on Geary Street, the former Trocadero Club reopened as Rx, the latest from Dennis Leary and Eric Passetti (recently of SoMa tiki bar Natoma Cabana and 2013 Eater Awards Empire Builders of the Year) with barman Erick Ochoa.

The new decor simultaneously got a little darker and a little warmer, and as we mentioned last week, the menu now has a heavy focus on amari and remedies that will surely cure any alcohol deficiencies you might have. The new menu is based off of an actual prohibition-era prescription form for medicinal alcohol and you can take a glimpse right here. Early highlights include stimulants made from rye, Cynar and Firelit coffee liqueur; or the stress-relieving Rexall made with mezcal, pineapple ghum syrup, Becherovka and chili tincture.
