La Capra Coffee Brings Proprietary Blend to the FiDi

Coffee, fancy toast and light lunch fare courtesy of the guys behind Town Hall.

Meredith M./Yelp

Exhausted denizens of the FiDi will be happy to learn that La Capra Coffee is now open, a caffeinated feather in the cap of restaurateurs Mitchell and Steve Rosenthal (Town Hall, Anchor & Hope, Salt House) and their partner Hanna Suleiman (Caffe Greco). The main attraction at La Capra is the Rosenthal brothers' own brand of ltalian-inspired espresso, a blend of Brazilian, Guatemalan and Ethiopian beans. Non-espresso drinkers will have the option of drip coffee and a rotating selection of single-origin pourovers, as well as teas, juices and sparkling water.

Starting at 6 am, a selection of fancy toasts like avocado with togarashi ($4) and assorted pastries from Neighbor Bakehouse and Starter Bakery will be available. From 10:30am- 3pm, salads and sandwiches join the party; a smoked duck breast salad with fennel and citrus vinaigrette and a smoked turkey sandwich with Taleggio cheese, Asian pear, arugula and lemon-mustard dressing sound particularly appealing.

Dark wood, tile and plenty of goat-themed trinkets adorn the space, located at 50 Fremont St. (on the corner of Mission). The cafe is open Monday-Friday from 6am-6pm, offering coffee and pastries; lunch is available from 10:30am-3pm.
