Umami Burger Jumps On Pumpkin Spice Bandwagon, Debuts Latte-Inspired Stuntburger

Note: does not contain pumpkin.

From the Eater SF Inbox this morning: noted stuntburger emporium Umami Burger is arriving late to the autumnal promotional item season with a new burger inspired by the now-ubiquitous Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Like the latte, the burger does not contain any actual pumpkin. Instead, the signature Umami patty comes topped with a different sort of squash—tempura Kabocha squash, in this case—along with spiced Mascarpone cheese, garlic aioli and a coffee glaze. Although, a rep from the burger chain's PR agency tells Eater that all Bay Area Umami Burger locations will be participating in the promotional item, the press release seems to have been written with the Cow Hollow location in mind. From the release:

So on your way to yogilates or Starbucks, pick up the Pumpkin Spice Latte Burger too. And don’t forget to throw on your Uggs. We swear you’ll be OBSESSED after first bite.

For the burger launch on Wednesday, November 5th the stuntburger will cost a mere $4, which is even less than the latte that inspired it. After Wednesday, the burger will be a much more normal $12. No word yet on what the calorie count is like, but we're sure you'll be able to burn through one after a couple SoulCycle sessions down the street.
