A Tasting Menu On A Sailboat; Pairing Science With Food

NOB HILL— Ala Romana owners Lorenzo Logoreci and Kelly Steckelberg will host Giants Legends Barry Bonds and Orlando Cepeda for a benefit at the penthouse of the Fairmont Hotel. The event will be emceed by actor Patrick Fabian, from upcoming Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul. Tickets are $250 and proceeds benefit the My HALO Project, which supports orphans in Liberia.

EMBARCADERO— Aside from adding a ramen bar, the Exploratorium is also expanding their nightlife options with a new series called Pairings: Cultivating a Taste for Science Through Food that combines science, dining and occasionally wine tasting. The first edition happens Thursday, November 13th and focuses dirt — specifically why you can't just eat it and how it influences things like the terroir of your wine.
