Crab Dinner at Urchin Bistrot; Hanukkah Dinner at Bluestem Brasserie

MISSION— The new spot from chef Aaron London (Ubuntu) finally has a name. AL's Place is set to open late winter or early spring in the old South End Grill space. AL's will serve vegetable-and-seafood-heavy fare, beer and wine. [Inside Scoop]

FIDIBluestem Brasserie will host a Hanukkah dinner with husband-and-wife team Jeff Banker and Lori Baker (Baker & Banker). Diners will enjoy a five-course meal of family recipes ($75), and the first appearance of the Baker & Banker duo since they shuttered their restaurant in October. There will be two seatings Wednesday, December 17, 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. [EaterWire]

MISSION Urchin Bistro is hosting a deal of a crab dinner. For $36, enjoy three-courses, including a charcoal grilled half Dungeness crab, paired with pitchers of Henhouse Saison and Green Flash IPA. The dinner is Monday-Thursday for the rest of 2014. [EaterWire]

SOMA— Local drag star Heklina has a new name for her famous and fabulous party, Trannyshack. The new party, now called Mother, will debut at The Oasis, the club recently purchased by Heklina and fellow drag queens D'Arcy Drollinger, Geoff Benjamin, and Jason Beebou. Mother will premiere Saturday, January 17; there's also a big NYE blowout to celebrate the opening of The Oasis. [SFist]
