Town Hall, Salt House Chefs Bringing Jersey Pizza to SOMA

Jersey-style pizza joins the Rosenthal brothers' family of eateries.

It appears that brothers Mitchell and Steven Rosenthal are building an empire in the heart of San Francisco. Inside Scoop reports that in addition to their successful downtown businesses Town Hall, Anchor & Hope, Salt House and the newly opened La Capra Coffee, they'll soon add Jersey Pizza to their SOMA portfolio. The name is a straightforward homage to their East Coast heritage, where "pizza is a pretty big part of the culture," says Mitchell.

The 50-seat restaurant will serve pies, antipasto and a handful of entrees from Town Hall and Salt House alum Ramona Rillo. It'll be a full-service restaurant, but with a strong takeout component, potentially including slices (thin-crust and Sicilian). The now-gutted space, formerly home to Toaster Oven (145 Second Street), will be reimagined by the same firm responsible for designing La Capra, Sagan Piechota Architecture. It should arrive in February.
