Indian food fans were pumped when Kamal Barbhuyan and Nimmi Bano, formerly of the Tenderloin's Little Delhi, acquired a new space in the Inner Sunset for Curry Village, which opened in 2010. They earned praise for their fresh-tasting fare and affordable buffet, but after getting shut down by the health department for a spell back in May, they apparently weren't able to rebound. The restaurant is shut down and its phone is disconnected, a sad end for a joint with a following so devoted that it was actually planning a Mission spinoff a few years back. As is to be expected, the prime 9th and Judah space (right across from Arizmendi) is already on the market; no word on where Barbhuyan and Bano have ended up.
