If you're feeling peckish the next time you hit Peet's Coffee & Tea for a latte, you now have food options beyond the pastry case. In a bid to compete with Starbucks' lunch business, the chain has rolled out grab-and-go food options from chef Arnold Eric Wong (Eos, Bacar) that include kale-feta-fig salad, a turkey sandwich with pumpkin-seed pesto aioli, and a quinoa and chickpea salad. Every Peet's in the Bay Area, as well as Santa Cruz, Sacramento, and Monterey, now carries the line, including their fancy new Marina flagship. [EaterWire]
