Crossburgers, Now Grilling in Oakland

New, 2 comments

There's a new burger spot in the 510, courtesy of Eddie Blyden, who previously worked at 21st Amendment Brewery, The Alembic and Miss Pearl's in Oakland. The new project is Crossburgers, and it's a classic burger joint that features burgers, sandwiches, salads and hot dogs with the occasional twist.

Tablehopper reports that the spot is named for its signature crossburger (it's a little angry, so expect some spice and smoke in the burger's secret sauce). Born in Nigeria and raised in Sierra Leone, Blyden has a background in West African cooking alongside his experience in New York, Zurich and San Francisco, so expect to see some creative flavors paired with classic burger joint fare. Other menu items include a regular cheeseburger, Crosscuban (cuban spiced pork burger topped with smoked ham), fried chicken sandwich and 510 hot dog with black eyed pea chili. Salads, daily specials and a choice of "naked," spiced sweet potato with lime sour cream, or "dirty" fries round out Crossburgers' offering. (See the full menu here.) Hours for the new spot are Monday to Friday, 10:30am to 4pm.
