DOGPATCHThird Rail is offering a new weekday happy hour from 3-6 pm, featuring the $8 Rail Shot: 8 oz of any draft beer; a shot of Pueblo Viejo tequila, Fernet-Branca, Four Roses bourbon, or Flor de Caña rum; and half an ounce of housemade jerky. All the cocktails are also discounted to $8. [EaterWire]

TEMESCAL—In a rare move for a restaurateur with three spots under his belt, Charlie Hallowell is returning to run his old kitchen at Pizzaiolo in May. OAKLANDHopscotch is hosting a cocktail pairing dinner tomorrow night, featuring five courses each matched with a house concoction (excepting the dessert, "boozy" s'mores). The menu includes porchetta, wings with panko oysters and blue cheese, and fried okra, and is a reasonable $80 for both food and booze. Call for reservations. [EaterWire]

SOMA—Macaron maker Chantal Guillon has snagged a commercial kitchen at 9th and Howard, which may turn into a third location depending on local demand. Their Hayes Valley and Palo Alto locations have met with enough enthusiasm that they outgrew their current space, and with Twitter right nearby, we're guessing the odds are good. [Tablehopper]
