Pac Heights institution Elite Cafe has added new flavor in the form of executive chef James London, a New York import most recently seen at CO-OP, La Fonda del Sol and The Crow's Nest. At Elite, London will return to his South Carolina childhood roots with a new menu rolling out in mid-April. The first update to Elite's offering in eight years, it'll keep the classics (jambalaya, Meetinghouse biscuits) but also showcase upmarket Southern dishes like shrimp and grits with Benton's bacon and a grilled Alaskan halibut with ham and pickled fennel.
