After a week in which they simultaneously released their first packaged product (New Orleans iced coffee) and earned the title of "the Apple of coffee" from Slate, Blue Bottle has still more big news: they're expanding outside of the U.S. for the first time, opening a store in Tokyo's Kiyosumi neighborhood later this year. The cafe will host a roastery, training center, and pastry kitchen, and founders James and Caitlin Freeman plan to keep an apartment there as well. [Sprudge]
