John Paluska and Andrew Hoffman, the team behind Berkeley's Comal, have finally gotten the city's approval for their second project, in a converted former garage in the Elmwood neighborhood (2635 Ashby) that's been vacant since 2008. Still unnamed, the 100-seat spot will serve Northern California cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian influences in an "approachable and comfortable environment." It'll feature a 12-seat bar that's open late, and should arrive sometime in early 2015. [Berkeleyside Nosh]
