With Matt Shapiro off to Wise Sons Deli and Noah Bustos and Nathaniel Loya departing to helm the kitchen at Excelsior dive bar Pissed Off Pete's, Schmidt's has been on the lookout for a new chef. Now, Tablehopper reports that Russell Matthew Woods (of New Orleans' Grill Room at Windsor Court and Bacchanal Fine Wines and Spirits) is joining the German spot and will be rolling out a new menu come March 12th, with four new housemade sausages (Bavarian beerwurst, smoked chicken wurst, smoked Hungarian wurst and duck and fig wurst) joining Schmidt's lineup.
