Chinatown's popular fortune cookie and mooncake emporium Mee Mee Bakery was shut down by the Health Department on Friday afternoon due to a mouse infestation in the bakery and the neighboring Walgreens. After a thorough sanitization, both reopened a couple of hours later. It's not Mee Mee's first tangle with vermin, though: a September inspection put it at "moderate risk" of vermin infestation, which was then upgraded to "high risk" in October. The nearby tunneling for the Central Subway, which has been stirring up rats, may be a culprit. [ABC7]
