It appears that Rick Bayless has pulled his only restaurant in the Bay Area: the fast-casual Frontera Fresco located in the basement of the Macy's in Union Square. (According to Frontera's website, its Chicago locations remain open, so the chain itself hasn't folded.) It's been replaced by a similar-sounding, Macy's-run concept called Tortilla Kitchen, featuring "authentic Mexican flavors" like smothered burritos and Baja fish tacos. A Macy's rep says Frontera "wanted to re-focus their energies on new projects closer to Chicago." [EaterWire]
