Kona-based Batik Cafe is expanding to the mainland with a second location opening up right here in San Francisco. Located at Polk St. between Pacific and Jackson, the new spot comes from Derek Paulson, whose popular location in Hawaii is about three years old.
The new cafe will continue the original location's dedication to beachy, plant-based smoothies and açaí bowls that incorporate fruit, granola and toppings like hempseed and honey. Kona coffee will also be available, and some baked goods and other healthy grab-and-go options are in the works as well. Basik Cafe is currently in the build-out phase, but they're targeting a summer opening date. We'll keep you posted.
