Back in 2010, an elaborate hoax in NYC convinced thousands of Manhattanites that In-N-Out would finally grace their shores. Now the idea has been repeated in Berkeley, where a prankster tied a realistic-looking In-N-Out banner to a boarded-up space on Telegraph. The news blew up among UC students on Twitter before a skeptical citizen called In-N-Out, discovering that it just wasn't true. As a result, there's now a petition for a Berkeley location, boasting nearly 1,300 signatures. We couldn't find one to get a non-Wharf SF location, but someone should make it. [CA Golden Blogs]
