It looks like the Divisadero corridor may be on track to lose one of its most beloved institutions—no, not Nopa, but the 28-year-old Popeye's located across the street, long a refuge for the drunk, the broke, and the lover of $2 Tuesdays in an increasingly fancy 'hood. The current leaseholder has put the space on the market, with the option of continuing as-is or turning it into a different restaurant altogether (a rendering depicts the latter). It might be the one instance in which a corporate fast-food chain would be deeply missed by San Franciscans. [Hoodline]
