The Eater National Coffee 38, compiled by a nationwide panel of chefs, writers, and other roaster-unaffiliated aficionados of the bean, has dropped, and the Bay Area cleaned up, garnering four spots on the list: Blue Bottle, Four Barrel, Ritual, and Santa Cruz's Verve. By comparison, NYC, Portland, and Seattle each boasted three, despite their reputations as cultural and caffeine capitals, respectively.
