La Rondalla's Opening-Day Fire; Aventine's Block Party

THE MISSION—Though tonight is still supposed to be the opening night for Valencia Street's long-shuttered La Rondalla, it looks like things are off to a bumpy start, with evidence of a kitchen fire appearing on the restaurant's exterior wall. [Matt Graves/Twitter]

FiDiTaverna Aventine hosts their 6th annual Cinco de Mayo block party tomorrow, featuring a tequila bar, photo booth, multiple DJs and taco truck. Festivities begin tomorrow at 4pm and run 'til 2am. [EaterWire]

NORTH BEACHDon Pisto's is also getting in on the Cinco de Mayo celebration with "four days of fiesta", including live entertainment, San Franpsycho t-shirts, mix-your-own-margaritas with the Fender Blender, jello shots and "tons of other unnecessary weird things going on," plus menu additions like tamales, birria, street corn and Tijuana street hot dogs.
