Meet SF's 2014 Eater Young Guns Semifinalists

New, 1 comment

eater-young-guns-2012.pngEach year, Eater scours the country looking for the very best culinary talent under 30 that this nation has to offer, selecting a handful of the best and brightest as Eater Young Guns. This year's group of 50 semifinalists was selected by a chef committee that includes the likes of Corey Lee, Dominique Crenn, David Chang, Danny Meyer, and Rick Moonen, and SF has four names on the list. They are Nick Muncy, the pastry chef of Coi; Johnny Ortiz, a sous chef at Saison; Peter de Pentheny O'Kelly, the general manager of Benu; and Amy Racine, the wine director for Sons & Daughters and The Square.

You'll get to know each of them, as well as the other semifinalists from around the nation, over the next few months, with profiles and videos introducing each in turn. The winners will be announced in late June. Congrats to all the semifinalists, and many thanks to the readers, chefs, and other friends of the site who submitted local nominees.
