THE EMBARCADERO—Hapa Ramen was eager to see Giants player Hunter Pence's missing scooter returned, so much so that they offered up a year of free ramen to the person who brought it home. After the scooter was turned in anonymously to a police station, they encouraged the attending officer to come take the year of free noodles instead. [SFoodie]
BERKELEY—Treasure Island-based whiskey makers Mosswood Distillers are on the move: they've taken a space in West Berkeley, where they may eventually build a tasting room. Cityside, you can try their booze at Bourbon & Branch and Third Rail, among other bars. [Berkeleyside Nosh]
ROCKRIDGE—Speaking of local distillers, St. George Spirits' shochu, which they custom-distilled for Ramen Shop, is now available there (including in a cocktail, the Grass Cutter, with St. George's Terroir gin, lemon, pineapple, orgeat, ginger, vanilla, and matcha). [@ramenshop/Instagram]
NORTH BEACH—Celebrate Acquerello's 25th anniversary with the first of six planned special dinners this Monday, featuring Merigan Sub Shop chef (and Acquerello and A16 alum) Liza Shaw.
