Outerlands Debuts Dinner; Laszlo's Vinyl Thursdays

OUTER SUNSET—The newly reopened Outerlands begins its dinner service tonight, with cocktails starting at 3pm, bar bites at 4pm and the full dinner menu 5:30-10pm. [Tablehopper]

MISSIONForeign Cinema chef/owner Gayle Pirie has quite a record collection, and tonight marks the debut of a vinyl project at next-door bar Laszlo, where DJs will be spinning from her archives nightly. On Thursday, they'll officially launch Vinyl Side Thursdays, which will see album sides paired with themed cocktails (this week it'll be Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin with a classic Martini). SAN FRANCISCO—The New York Times took an ice cream tour of the city, from Frozen Kuhsterd to Garden Creamery to Smitten and beyond. The verdict? San Francisco is an ice cream "utopia" brimming with "local, organic ingredients and flavors that range from the slavishly seasonal to the doggedly avant-garde." [NYT]

OUTER SUNSETLadda's Thai Cuisine (also known as Sea View Restaurant) has closed its doors at 1225 La Playa St., with no word yet on what's next for the beachside location. [Tablehopper]
